SEWAM Program: Empowering Women for Sustainable Livelihoods Since 2010, the SEWAM (Socio-Economic Empowerment for Women and Marginalized) program has been working to uplift marginalized and deprived women in the districts of Chitwan, Sarlahi, and Dhanusha in Central Nepal. Supported by World Accord, SEWAM focuses on enhancing women’s socioeconomic status through skill-based training, income-generating activities, vocational education, agricultural support, and awareness initiatives. Over the past 14 years, SEWAM has positively impacted the lives of more than 300 women by making them self-empowered through trust funds and micro-credit support. These efforts have not only helped them economically but also empowered women in decision-making roles at home and in community. Today, women involved in the program are more confident, independent, and actively investing in their futures-leading the way toward sustainable community development.
