WPD Nepal organized an art competition on May 7th, 2018 during the Global Week of Action on the topic “Effects of Gun Violence on Safety”, where 7 different schools from Kathmandu had participated. The main objective of this event was to educate students and local people about the illicit use of small arms, its effects on the disruption of peace and the need for an arms trade treaty. The competition was held at Kanjirowa National High Secondary School, Kathmandu. Two students from each school had participated and prepared art pieces based on the theme. The event was supported by the International Action Network on Small Arms (IANSA), UNSCAR and WPD Nepal.
