WPD Nepal organized an poem competition on June 7 , 2019 during the Global Week of Action on the topic ” Effects of  Gun Violence on safety” where 5 different schools from Kathmandu has participated. The main objective of this event was to educate students and local people about the illicit use of small arms, its effects on the disruption of peace and the need for an arms trade treaty.  The competition was held at Grammar Public Higher Secondary school , Kathmandu. one student of each school participated and presented the poems they prepared on the theme. The event was supported by the International action network on small arms (IANSA) UNSCAR and Wpd Nepal.
